Story: Heinrich Uebergang (1853 - 1946)

Heinrich was the tenth child of Carl Gottlieb Uebergang and Johanna Eleonora Uebergang. He was born some three weeks after his family arrived on the Wilhelmsburg. Heinrich never married and little is know of his life. According to information which relatives have passed on Heinrich was of a shy disposition, but he still gained many friends. He was a staunch adherent of the Lutheran church. Thoughout his life, he worked closely with his older brother, Ernst August, on Ernst's farm at Tabor. Later on, when Ernst August Uebergang moved from Tabor to Tarrington, Heinrich moved with him. Heinrich later resided with his nephew Ernst Otto Uebergang in Penshurst. Heinrich died on June 29, 1945 after arriving at the ripe old age of 91 years and 3 months. He was buried by Rev. E.W. Wiebusch in Tabor.
