Johanna Christina Uebergang was the second child of Karl Gottlieb and Johanna Eleanora Uebergang. She was born in Bersdorf, Prussia, on March 3, 1832. On February 8, 1858 she married Karl August Grosser, a labourer of Tallangatta, Victoria, in her mother's home at Hopkins River, Warrnambool, by Pastor C.W. Schürmann. After some time passed, August and Johanna, with their first child, moved to the Tabor area, selecting land at Croxton East. August and Johanna were people of strong Christian faith. August was a trustee of the first Lutheran church at Tabor. He also server the churct at Tabor, as a lay reader for forty years. His martinet attitudes stemmed from his influence of the Prussian army in which he had served. The marriage was blessed with four sons and five daughters. Johanna died in 1909 and she is buried in the Tabor cemetery with her husband.
